Notebook / VIA EPIA™ Version

Some Notebooks and EPIA™ Boards from VIA deliver only 5 Volt supply voltage which is to low for the standard version of the IR receiver. Even though EPIA™ Boards with their Eden / C3 CPUs are a good option for silent / noiseless PCs since they need often no fan.
For that we offer for these boards a special IR receiver version with a "low drop" voltage regulator. It is of course suited for regular PC systems as well. If you can access a voltage meter you could find out if you'd need that version: Important: Before checking start the WinLirc Software with the right selected COM Port - that sets up the voltage supply. If it is between 5 - 6 Volt the EPIA™ Version is needed. Above usually not. With 7 Volt you are at the save side.
