You can download here a general package that contains most essentials. Files, changing frequently and clients (see below) are linked separately. This provides you to see up to dates state.

All links here refer to Windows software. Linux users find guides at http://www.lirc.org .
Here short instructions for Linux LIRC configuration:
Following kernel modules should be loaded: lirc_dev, lirc_serial
with this command: modprobe lirc_serial
Lircd should be started with this command:
lircd --driver=default --device=/dev/lirc0

The general package contains:

  • WinLIRC
  • Winamp Plugin (small client for WinLIRC)
  • Configuration files for WinLIRC and IRAssistant (more about see below).

Download here the general package

State of configuration files for WinLIRC: 2. September 2003.

PCs running Windows 95 may need the WinLIRC used system component
Winsocket 2.0. In our Installation guide is described how you can find this out immediately.

WinLIRC

The most important Program - WinLIRC makes it possible to receive the remote data. Here is the site of the developer: http://WinLIRC.sourceforge.net/

We recommend to check the free scripttool Autohotkey, which also talks to WinLIRC.

Clients

Girder

Brings a lot of ways to control the PC. Huge user community - many configurations for program controls. Recommended for all willing to spend a little more time with the matter. For the installation the IgorPlug.dll file (Newest version from the Igor HP ) is placed in the Girder\Plugins\Hardware Dir. Then in File /Settings /Hardware Plugins / Igor SFH-56 device /Settings, set Input Signal=DCD.

IRAssistant

This is the client, that is treated in detail in the installation guide.

We experienced that IRAssistant runs WinLIRC only since Windows 98 - not with Windows 95.

Configuration files to adapt the remote control to WinLIRC can be found at www.lirc.org
